Short Information

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the CTET February 2026 notification. This is a national-level eligibility test for candidates who aspire to become teachers for Class I to VIII in central government schools like KVS, NVS, and others. The entire application process is online.

CTET Feb 2026 : Important Dates

  • Application Start Date: 27/11/2025
  • Last Date to Apply: 18/12/2025 (Before 11:59 PM)
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 18/12/2025
  • Online Correction Window: 23 to 26/12/2025
  • Exam Date: 08/02/2026 (Sunday)
  • Admit Card Release: Two days before the exam

Application Fee

For Paper-I

  • General / OBC-NCL : ₹ 1000 /-
  • SC / ST / Differently Abled : ₹ 500 /-

For Both Paper

  • General / OBC-NCL : ₹ 1200 /-
  • SC / ST / Differently Abled : ₹ 600 /-
  • GST as applicable will be charged extra by the bank. Fee is non-refundable.

CTET Feb 2026 : Eligibility Criteria

  • For Paper I (Class I-V): Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • For Paper II (Class VI-VIII): Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Relaxation: A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks is available for SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled candidates.

CTET Feb 2026 : Selection Process

  1. The selection is based solely on the candidate’s performance in the CTET written examination. To qualify, a candidate needs to secure 60% or more marks. Qualifying CTET provides an Eligibility Certificate, which is one of the criteria for teacher recruitment in various schools. It does not guarantee a job.

Application Tips

  • Keep your Class X certificate, photograph, and signature ready before starting the application.
  • Choose your Language I and Language II carefully; they cannot be the same.
  • Ensure your name, date of birth, and parents’ names match exactly with your Class X certificate.
  • Use an active mobile number and email ID, as all communication will be sent there.

Steps to Apply

  1. Visit the official CTET website: https://ctet.nic.in.
  2. Click on the “Apply Online” link.
  3. Fill in the authentication and main application form with personal and educational details.
  4. Upload scanned photograph (10-100 KB) and signature (3-30 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
  5. Pay the application fee online via Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.
  6. Review all details and submit the form.
  7. Download and print the Confirmation Page for your future reference. There is no need to send it to CBSE.
